The Ministry of Lands, Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Rural Development in collaboration with the Public Service Commission is inviting applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates to fill the following vacancy that has arisen in the Department of the Surveyor General.
POST: 1x Land Surveyor (D3- E4) (Cadastral)
STATION: Matabeleland North Provincial Office
REPORTS TO: Provincial Land Surveyor
DEPARTMENT: Surveyor General
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Executing title and topographical surveys for the State.
2. Examining survey records and sectional titles and making recommendations for approval
3. Communicating with Land Surveyors and other stakeholders.
4. Updating information of approved surveys in the e-Cadastre and Land Transaction System (LTS).
5. Re- constructing property boundaries and resolving boundary disputes.
6. Preparing survey records including draft general plans, work plans, diagrams and survey reports.
7. Examining survey bills and making recommendations for payment to Government by clients.
8. Preparing quotations for State land surveys.
9. Advising Stakeholders on land registration
10. Compiling and submitting weekly reports to the Provincial Land Surveyor.
11. Performing other relevant duties as assigned by the Provincial Land Surveyor.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND ATTRIBUTES
The desired candidate should:
* Hold degree in Land Surveying and Geomatics or equivalent.
* Possession of a practising Land Surveying Certificate membership to the Survey Institute of Zimbabwe will be added advantages.
* Experience in performing land survey duties will be another added advantage.
* Be knowledgeable of the Land Survey Act ( Chapter 20:12), Land Survey
* Regulations and the Deeds Registries Act (Chapter 20:05) as amended.
* Have good communication, inter-personal and leadership skills.
* Be able to work as team and under pressure.
* Be computer literate.
