POST: 4x Geospatial Technician (D1- D5) Thematic Maps 

STATION: Harare Office 

REPORTS TO: Geospatial Officer (Thematic Maps)

DEPARTMENT: Surveyor General 


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1.

  1.  Interpreting and classifying map related data.
  2. Importing source data according to user requirements.
  3. Digitising maps.
  4. Examining and editing maps.
  5. Conducting field verifications.
  6. Making regular database updates.
  7. Compiling and submitting weekly Thematic map reports to the Geospatial Officer (Thematic Maps).
  8. Performing other relevant duties as assigned by the Geospatial Officer (Thematic Maps). 


QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND ATTRIBUTES 

The desired candidate should;

  • Possess a National Diploma/ Higher National Diploma in Cartography and Geo-visualisation or equivalent. 
  • Be able to use GIS, Remote Sensing and Photogrammetry equipment.
  • Experience in performing cartographic duties will be an added advantage.
  • Be highly organized, analytical and accurate.
  • Be computer literate and able to use GIS software.
