POST: 6x Land Surveyor (Geodetic Monumentation and Maintenance)

STATION: Harare Office 

REPORTS TO: Deputy Director, Geodesy 

DEPARTMENT: Surveyor General

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  1. Establishing national geodetic control monuments. 
  2.  Identifying areas to place monuments.
  3.  Checking the physical appearance of monuments. 
  4.  Maintaining national geodetic control monuments through field work supervision. 
  5. Undertaking field survey measurements. 
  6. Processing the data and updating the database. 
  7. Identifying and raising procurement requests for the needed resources like hardware, software and materials. 
  8. Compiling and submitting weekly reports to the Deputy Director, Geodesy. 
  9. Performing other relevant duties as assigned by the Deputy Director, Geodesy.

    QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND ATTRIBUTES 

The desired candidate should;  

  • Hold a degree in Land Surveying and Geomatics or equivalent. 
  •  Possession of a practising Land Surveying Certificate and membership to the Survey Institute of Zimbabwe will be added advantages. 
  • Experience in performing land survey duties will be another added advantage.  
  • Be knowledgeable of the Land Survey Act (Chapter 20:12), Land Survey 
  • Regulations and the Deeds Registries Act (Chapter 20:05) as amended. 
  • Have good communication, inter-personal and leadership skills.
  • Be able to work as a team and under pressure. 
  • Be computer literate.
